My dad lived in Cator Manor, directly opposite the Second River Temple. If you look out you will see a single palm tree marking the spot where their house once stood. He has many fond memories of growing up in Stella Hill and the close community that once existed there. My gran used to tell us many stories about the riots and the chaos that ensued….pretty amazing if you know the history behind the sites…your pictures make me feel quite nostalgic.
Me again! I just checked it out and it is super cool. Quick question though. Is it hard to learn to use? I’m a relatively amateur photographer and just use lightroom and don’t shoot in the raw. Would it be hard to figure this out as an amateur? I love how it makes the cool contrasts!!!
I don’t really know a lot about Photoshop and am not that advanced to know myself the pros cons of RAW vs JPEG. I saw images and really liked them. I then read up on how to do it. Lot of trial and error and still far from top quality (if you could zoom in on the large image you would see what I mean). Give it a go. Photomatix is free to use / download – they just install a watermark on the demo version.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

I have wanted to go and take photos at the 2nd river temple – watch this space
I can’t wait….so many memories, so much faith 🙂
Lovely shots! They look like Impressionism in a sense. How did you filter them to get this painting like appearance?
Thank you! Photomatix. See http://www.hdrsoft.com/
